I brought him to darkest dungeon with a occultist bh houndmaster(in hindsight deulist advance was kinda messing me up) but it didn't matter cause he was non critting for 27 on reposte with a lvl 4 weapon

It's ok in some scenarios but not as good/versatile as the usual build.

Very versatile combine with open veins and tracking shot. Adding Dots against prot enemies and de-stealth backline stress dealers. Zero downsides

​@@1God1Fury Believe me I tried; it's pretty meh, especially if we compare it (perhaps unfairly) to the regular riposte highwayman. Highwayman, like the shieldbreaker, has great melee AND ranged skills and it's just better to boost their damage/accuracy across the board. I'd say it's only worth doing if that's the only rare/very rare trinket you found so far, if at all. This trinket is a real noob trap. By far the best highwayman's move is duelist advance, and you just crippled it to the ground. Open vein is melee, not sure why would you even use that now crappy move on a Gunslinger's buckle highwayman. I mean it's fun to hit up to 3 monsters with what is essentially almost regular damage and it's better than say, an arbalest but that's it. Anyway, as long as you have 2-3 other characters that can carry the party, everything works eh.

Why do you think it's meh? Gunslinger give enormous range accuracy +15 and +20%dmg. Pistol shot has highest crit chance from all of his skills. Open veins is a melee with bleed that has minor dmg downside and extremely accurate compared to wicked slice, so there is no need for any other accuracy trinkets, while gunslinger buff his ranged skills to do lethal damage.

For 18-20 crit rate it's normal. Keen would make it 15+ :)

Why is his trinket set this good? I had 15% virtue week bonus, + I took both virtue trinkets, and 2 of my character got afflicted and 1 virtue, idk about 4th bcos I needed that mission to by passed. But still best case scenario 50/50 got virtue ._.

I think the average is the number I see the least lol. It's either 0, 2, 4, 19, or crit 50.

The Riposte ability needs a shout out. It's free attacks. It can prevent stress caster damage. It wrecks AOE enemies. I prefer to keep mine in the slot 4 and slowly push forward. Riposte every other turn. The Big Boomstick slot 1 attack is good, but it can't hit important targets. Higwayman + Man at Arms + Double Riposte + Brigand Fusilier = hilarious.

In the standard line up riposte won't be a reliable backline killer, I feel. You'd better have something else to answer the backline with or else you're banking on the backlines hitting your highwayman, besides, it does -40% so you'll need complementary damage as well. It much better to off one backliner during round 1, before they can hit, and stun the remaining backliner. The reason you'd want the highwayman in position 2 is so you have the option to go big gun at round 2. This you'd do in race fights where you want to kill the enemies as fast as possible, a good example would be against groupers in the Cove, and then pratically against all the Crimson Court mobs due to their disorganized placement. Riposte is very good against bosses though, and as you said AoE's. It's awesome, but I just don't use it as an reaction to backliners.

Hey mate these vids are nice. They really help to understand what it takes to get the fullest out of your characters however I have to state I myself and probably a few other may not have all DLCs or any for that matter due to limitations so do you usually mention what kind of trinkets/gear you would utilize for those that don;t have DLC? Cause I don't recall you mentioning a lot of other alterntives that give close to similar results even in your other vids.

My old assumption was that people can look at the dlc trinkets and find suitable replacements if they don't have it, they were a "what to aim for" type of thing. That wasn't good of me to do so I've been correcting it in the more recent videos, but the old ones still have it so my bad.

@@ShuffleFM Yeah, I get where you are coming from indeed, we all should be doing our own homework but some times we want to be sure what we pick as substitutes is actually good in the long term because as you are aware some of the other trinkets especially the class specific ones can give a good bonus for a specific skill set or playstyle but give a major drawback so it would help at least if you give you perspective if the gain is worth overlooking the drawbacks or vice versa. Even non-class items do the same especially higher tier ones. Maybe you may know some better alternatives instead? Regardless your time is appreciated.
