Reginald D Hunter, one of the funniest men on the planet.
@patagualianmostly7437 Жыл бұрын
It popped up via YT... I did not search for this... Yes...I laughed...it was decent show... BUT: Nah. whilst I enjoyed much of what Reginald said...it was funny.. and on point... He was lost with the humour about the UK politics.... Understandably. I get that. But most of his humour was simply playing on the white-black divide.... How is it funny from a black guy but racist from a white guy? Huh? Don't you think all this crap is exactly that? Let's get back to humour...we are NOT all the same... that's what makes our different traits comedic... Let's laugh at our differences. Maybe then we'll start making some bridges, eh? Eternally pointing out the skin colour has not been an overwhelming success has it?

@@patagualianmostly7437your paranoid defensive ignorance is showing. As to why it’s different for a black guy, it’s about power. Until black guys head our major institutions and populate our parliaments in the same proportions as white guys have since 1066, it won’t be racist. You can’t reverse racism, because it is about power. The much more pressing question is, why don’t you know that? Why does one black comic get you so riled you write an essay in the comments?

That first joke by Reginald D. Hunter before the theme song is just perfect. You have the classist/racist English woman trying to "correct" his speech according to the rules of Standard English. Then Reg drops a brilliant play on words that demonstrates his mastery of Standard English, Black English Vernacular (BEV), and the ability to code switch between the two.

I know i’m years late with this, but… I’m amazed that no-one noted, the problem with dude’s woods was not that _he had them_ , but that he took taxpayers’ money for them, by claiming for their upkeep in his parliamentary expenses. Though he could afford to finance his own privileged lifestyle, he instead stole from less-privileged people to finance it. The fact that this esteemed panel let themselves be led to talk about class jealousy rather than the actual issue is disappointing. Even more disappointing is that we today are still being suckered the same way. As long as they can sneer that anyone who objects is just jealous, they can avoid being held to account.
