@@lockG1776 couldn’t agree more! You know a visual novel has abnormally-relaxing music when even the some of the most tragic and emotion-inducing tracks are soothing!! (eg lie lies lies lie, dawn, single(hitoe)). Obviously this doesn’t apply to **all** the sad songs, though, eg kyouki he no kairou, shukusai, fascism, gear and requiem of the disaster, but it still applies to a good portion of them lol

Relaxing and Higurashi...Completely different things...

(Higurashi spoilers) When higurashi is scary, sure, it’s one of the most psychologically-challenging and terrifying things to read. When higurashi is peaceful and happy, though, i think it sometimes can be very relaxing to read. I suppose the exception to this is in, eg matsuribayashi - miyoko’s childhood (where sora no mukou’s piano version plays). This is due to the ridiculous amount of sadness I felt for Miyoko and her life before she was adopted by Hifumi. I couldn’t ever feel relaxed by the beautiful melody because of how unfortunate her situation was

I don’t blame you, futari hitori is a track that simply calling ‘beautiful’ would be a severe understatement to. Wait until you get to the part with fabricated dream… i wish you luck for that lol I cry every time i listen to that masterpiece. I will never cry to any higu song as much as ricordando il passato, s/he end, my dear or engage of marionette (the best sad umineko soundtracks), but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have some damn good tracks that cover every single emotion under the sun BRILLIANTLY
