Hi Beth, on Saturday I read an article on in the business insider and they did an interview with the CEO of Dollar tree. First off this man is pretty cocky my opinion he went on to say he was singing his sad song about how he is company was losing money because he now had to compete not only with his regular competition five below and Dollar General but now he was fighting against Walmart and target and their ability to manufacture at a really really good price and put things out at a good price and then he took off on Temo and how they are shipping orders that are actually 7 to 8% loss to the company. That happens to be a legal in the state in the US. You have to be able to sell your product and turn a profit either that or you’re a hobby Temu is not a hobby. he went on to say that in order to offer the public probably a product that was worth them coming in the store that effective March 1 of 2025 the price point package which is right now between $1.25 and five dollars would become $1.50, and a high of seven dollars. He said the market will bear this. His company needs to do it to stay in business. He talked about the stores that they were closing that were under performers. He talked about the fact that they’re going to close the Family Dollar stores and then he talked about the stores in California. He was going to close, however California sisters don’t have to worry it’s yes closing dollar trees but they are closing them because they purchased so many $.99 stores and they are turning dollar tree into super dollar trees at at least 10 of those locations around Los Angeles. I don’t know who this man is taking his business advice from, but he’s a fool from the way I see it and of course it’s a strictly my opinion if I’m in Walmart and their dollar spot isn’t bad and there’s a lot of nice things in there. They got to tweak their pricing a little bit obviously target knows that their spot is a moneymaker because they pretty much try to keep that area full so that the customer wants in the door before he’s even gone to the department that he wants they’ve got maybe another they got $20 worth of stuff from the dollar spot in his cart. If I am in target or Walmart, I’m definitely going to visit their dollar spot, but I may need to be in the store because someone needs gym shoes or I need to pick up something quick to add for dinner. They have definitely at least in Walmart case done improvement on their clothing department, making it far more inviting than it has been in the past this was never a problem for target I think that when I know I can do all of my shopping in one place would between the prices that we pay and the price of gasoline today you know you’re gonna go to the one place where you can do all your shopping and dollar tree does not qualify. And I can’t think of anything that they have in that store that were seven dollars if I’m wrong someone please correct me anyway this is a true article. It was written like I said the business insider and I read it on Saturday. I think the CEO of dollar tree is for a very big shock, but we’ll just have to wait till March 1 and see what happens?
