Brother Yusha Evans does not like to be called a "Sheikh". He corrected me when I addressed him at a gathering in Hawthorne, CA in May of 2012. He says he's not old enough nor knowledgeable enough to be considered a Sheikh. I think he's extremely modest and knowledgeable, Mashallah, but let's not call him by a name that he doesn't call himself. We do that enough to people we don't like, so why do it to someone we love, for the sake of Allah (swt)?

Masha Allah this is a good lecture. Plus he named my two favorite perfume, I'm sure his wife wears it. For me I wear full covering al hamdulillah. My question is, I myself wear full covering (niqab, abaya, gloves, knee hijabs) and don't consider myself beautiful as he say women are. So why is it that men are attracted to anything? I have converted to Islam and I have notice after I converted men seem to be amazed by my covering and propose marriage.
@urwashahid92109 жыл бұрын
+A. Diallo Sister, you are beautiful. know this for fact and don't have any second thought about it. All women are beautiful to men. this is a fact that insecure women of the west were not aware of, so they reduced their clothing to grab attention. completely enslaving themselves to the desires of men. and then they were manipulated to think this is liberty. You need to become certain that Allah has Created you super gorgeous, and you need to guard your beauty as per His command. May Allah bless you with an amazing spouse who will become the coolness of your eyes. Aamiin.

Amen. Jazak'Allah khair. May Allah do the same for you in your marriage.

+A. Diallo because men will objectify you whether you are naked or in a full niqab...when they see you covering yourself they may think you are easily subjugated, if they see you naked they assume you are easy period, if they see you in jeans and a t-shirt they will still want to commit sexual and violent acts against you THIS IS NOT ABOUT WOMEN these ideas are excusing male behavior and reduce male accountability and make the women accountable for whatever befalls them, that is oppression and victim blaming and its wrong. If men cant control their impulses in the face of a beautiful woman that is THEIR issue

It's a shame that even when some women save themselves and guard their body for their husband the husband isn't grateful, men really need to learn how to appreciate their women.
@Maryam78620108 жыл бұрын
+jawad ali we all know in most cases women are too afraid to dishonour their men bc the consequences for them are for more great. Trust me, I've seen with my own eyes how some Muslim women guard their bodies, pray their salaah and take care of their family but their husband are so ungrateful to them and just treat them like a piece of meat. Majority of the time it's men who does not appreciate their women. But yes some women do not appreciate their men too.

Second things asked in Quran is that a part of that outer covering be thrown over head "So that they will be identified & no one will tease them",,, So there's a reason mentioned "Identification as modest lady", to srnd out "I'm not open to getting hit-on" kind of message. Just like some lady wears a ring to dispel unwanted proposals...

Would you rather put your body on show for the world to see and have men of all ages thinking about you in a sexual way? because trust me, when they see you they are not thinking 'damn she's beautiful... I want her to be the mother of my children'. Their imagining you in the most repulsive and degrading ways possible.

Seriously, what do men know about fashion? Straight men? Most of women that wear fashionably, do that to get recognition and compliments and to be admired by women. If you're going to be fashionable, wear another long coat, in a darker color, and a different scarf, a longer one, on top of your other scarf. At least that's what I do ^^

I'm a western woman as you say so it means I know Christianity. I suppose you're Christian too. Trust me sister even in Christianity man is above woman which means no equality (it might be cultural though). Secondly, you can never know how a man looks at you - you might think he is looking at your personality but he might have desires. For this reason Christianity is asking you as a woman in New Testament to dress modestly so that men would be protected from sexual thoughts.

Yeah but, you don't see straight men walking around the street, noticing a hijabi, and commenting on her not matching shoes, purse, scarf, or commenting on her style or anything, do you? Most of women get dressed up to impress other women, because those are the kind of comments that women do. So what I'm saying is, dressing up is awesome, but do it when you go to visit a friends house, get together with friends, on weddings and stuff, not on the streets!
@TheBlackHijabi9111 жыл бұрын
Also it is says in the Quran that truth stands clear from error. 2:256 , you can't help but realize that this statement makes sense. Open you mind and heart, just listen and check out Quran.com dont get caught up in islamic jurisprudence . That is a mistake that so many non Muslims make. I know because I used to be nonmuslim. I embraced Islam after opening my heart and mind to see what it really is. It is more important to establish prayer than anything else, isn't that the best way? Please

If women have to cover men should have to cover. If women wear headscarf men also has to wear headscarf....If a women pregnant a men should...wait....now you see how men and women is created differently. Covering the head for women has nothing to do with beauty. But it is an act of modesty. We do care about Male purity and virginity and that is why they (men) do have to cover parts of their body too but not asking them to start to wear headscarf or gowns though. Lols..

From a Muslim Woman to my sisters in humanity: Lets picture this scenario: one woman is modestly covered and another is barely dressed.. Which of them is oppressed and which of them is free...?! The woman whom is covered has the option to choose who sees what part of her body,when and where. While the woman that is nearly naked has what choice exactly? can she tell passersby to kindly turn away? Can she control who gets full access to her curves and beauty?
@kowtharnoor514111 жыл бұрын
It truly saddens my heart that your mind has been trained and conditioned to think that having men gazing longingly at you (In a SEXUAL manner) is something to be desired. Men and Women are DIFFERENT. Simple as. Because you’re a woman you cannot see or even imagine what repulsing things are in their minds. Like I said, they DO have to cover. I'm a woman and to tell you the truth If I had to look at legs or arms or chest all day I wouldn't feel a thing but if a man see's a woman’s legs? get me?

honestly it is how you see it. i could also say the same a bout you, but I don't. one person can't present a whole religion. Please don't assume the wrong things. Do not assume. Our religion is not violence, if anything, it is the opposite. Take a look at our book then tell me if what we believe in is good or bad. I agree that muslim people did something bad, but not all of us are bad. don't speak so low of a man who is doing good. and honestly if you don't appreciate what he says, don't listen.

The most beautiful part of a man is his face as well. Women will fantasize about a man who has a pretty face. But men do not have to wear a hijab over there heads. It is oppressive regardless.

Well it is natural to be attracted to beauty but This is not exactly what she said. She said wearing hijab is oppressive in comparison with men who do not have to cover their heads. your talking about a man having a pretty face so what does him having to cover his hair have to do with anything. what you should of said was "why dont muslim men have to cover thier face" but the truth is neither muslim man nor women is obligated to cover their face. the women that do cover thier face do it out of choice and if they have bben forced by a man to do so then this is against islam.

there is even a cultural thing in my country: the joke of construction workers cat calls when a woman is walking in what you would call modestly dressed. Women are so objectified that everything is sold by a women (from a car to cat food or tool). You are just not been honest about how women are treated in the west (I am not sure what country you are in) but in the USA they are definitely not treated equally. Usually a prettier woman will get attention quicker than a not so pretty one.
