Aman did the right thing. There is no way a beginner boxer will have an meaningful way to counter-punch and punish over-committed punches and there is no way they can deal with just fists from all directions. Punch as much and as hard as you can while being in motion will ruin ANY beginner boxer and the only risk is the opponent getting lucky, but they'll try to hide behind their hands and turn the head away. Perfect strategy in a case like this is having no strategy at all.

I've heard a similar claim to this before, I think boxing was named the hardest sport in the world and I don't really understand it. Wouldn't for example MMA automatically require more coordination than boxing since it requires you to not only know how to deal with boxers throwing punches with less padding but *also* how to deal with: Muy thai boxers throwing elbows and knees, Kickboxers throwing kics, Judoka and wrestlers trying to take you down, and BJJs trying to tap you out? Boxing doesn't seem that hard in comparison in my opinion.
@gilbertoflores7397
@gilbertoflores7397 Жыл бұрын
@@noone-ld7pt when you only have two hands to throw, the level of knowledge and skill required to compete with someone who is as equally skilled, makes it that much harder. With mma, most people aren't equally skilled in all disciplines so if you have an advantage in one aspect over them, it's easier to beat them in your skillset. And you can also lose when you might he more skilled than them. So mma is more like rock paper scissor is thay you might just get a bad match up in opponent. And in individualized sports, like a boxing or kickboxing, would be more like a chess where it can be a back and forth looking for opportunities or trying to creating the opportunities.

I thought it was a cool event and Levy did a great job with a shitty situation he was given. How are you going to keep a crowd of 10,000 people entertained, 2/3 of them probably don't know a lot about chess, and the board for the crowd was shot. Explaining why a move sucked wasn't going to cut it, he needed to hype it up a bit and paint a story for the crowd.

I am amazed they didn't force the head gear, it's ridiculous to make it optional, skilled amateur boxers have to wear headgear etc, all these chess players are absolute novices, somone could have got seriously hurt, it's absolute madness that headgear wasn't made mandatory, on another note, so so glad to see Lawrence get schooled, all the talking he did before the fight, saying he was going to easily win the boxing side, saying he has trained so hard, it's a for gone conclusion he was going to win, then he was battered and stopped in the first round 😂😂😂😂😂, sorry but that's hillirious, then he puts a video up after the party doing salsa dancing 😂😂😂😂😂😂 oh stop my stomach hurts, honestly it gets better and better with Lawrence it really does 👍😂😂😂😂😂😂

A new wave of research is suggesting that headgear may actually increase the frequency and/or severity of concussions. It’s not super conclusive yet, but enough reason to give people the opportunity to make an informed choice.
@glenndiddy
@glenndiddy Жыл бұрын
@@Updog89 it makes sense, since people feel safer while they aren't and the fights don't get stopped for cuts as often so they get hit more before it ends. Just like kickboxing has less brain trauma even though kicks are much stronger. It seems repeated medium strength blows to the head matter much more than individual knockout blows do

People in chat clearly don't know boxing. Headgear is responsible for most concussions. It's better to get hit without it on, because you can actually see the punch coming. This isn't folklore; it's based off the science. More concussions and injuries with headgear. Less without.
