I do not understand why Toyota marketing team decided to give Prado 4-cylinder gasoline. They have great 3.5l V6 or 2.0l turbo. When loaded with people and going uphill, 2.7l 4-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline is simply too weak for Prado.

thank you for your comment! I also have the same opinion. There is no problem with driving in central Tokyo, but you may feel lack of power on highways and mountain roads. I feel that I needed to carry an engine with more displacement than the 2700cc. In some cases, even considering taxes etc., it may be emissions.
I wonder how the M Pajero compares to Prado. They offer slightly stronger engines. The C08 rating is worse. Stronger engines do better when vehicle is loaded (with people or things). I want to use the vehicle in the mountains so prefer bigger engine and it doesn`t have to rev that much. Also, I learned yesterday that the new RAV4 gasoline version is fitted with CVT. That, in my opinion, is a terrible solution for a SUV. When taken camping, going downhill engine breaking, the belt in the CVT might get damaged. There is already a lot of information on the internet about Subaru and Nissan CVTs failing in their SUV. In North America, Toyota offers Automatic Transmission in RAV4 :( All that talk, when in few years I might just inherit his 2013 Jeep Gr Cherokee :) You provide good content. Good luck with your channel ;)

Thank you very much for your very happy comment! Pajero is also very interested, so I would like to make an impression! The new RAV4 is different from North America ... I think the new RAV4 is a car with high attention and potential to sell in Japan. I want to ride here too!

@@HIKARULIGHT09I agree with you. I think it RAV4 will sell in big numbers. Most buyers do not research technical details. People do not know the difference between torque converted automatic transmission and push belt CVT. :) It just makes me wonder what the resale value will be. :) There is still choice: second hand, hybrids with eCVT (based on planetary gear set) or Mazda :)

@@valdius85 I'm worried about the difference between the RAV4 gasoline engine and the hybrid. I have never driven a hybrid so much, but the aqua of TOYOTA was difficult to brake.

@@HIKARULIGHT09 Just to confirm: the breaking feeling was not linear? This is mentioned often. On paper, the eCVT (Hibrid Synergy Drive) and eAWD is a reliable solution. The bad braking might still be there. I haven't driven any Toyota hybrid. The issue with RAV4 it has a small battery, so the front wheel spin before the rear has enough electric power to provide for the separate rear engine. I worry about it. Hybrid is helpful and there is Forester and Outlander. I do not include CR-V as their AWD is not good. Forster has a battery and transmission from Prius. This might be most reliable Subaru on the market now :)
