WG~, Wow, that was an incredible historic video hike. Very interesting and informative. You really have a good eye, good instinct and good talent for capturing and narrating some really cool railroad yesteryear. Look forward to learning and seeing more. Thanx Thom...

Wow, an incredible trip up the branch. I’ve only been over it on a locomotive, it’s unbelievable you walked the entire line, camping by yourself with the bears and other wildlife.

I threw my food up in to the telegraph lines just in case a bear came by while I was sleeping. I expected it to be easy since it was more or less flat - but walking 30 miles on the ties really did a number on my feet.

10:00 was my favorite. I enjoyed the whole thing. Something ominous about the Adirondacks, it's always interesting there.

6:20 No, they parked the cars in the four-track yard at Tahawus. This siding is called "Stillwater".

Do you know why they built the siding there? Out in the middle of nowhere? Just on the off chance they had two trains out there?
@RussellNelson2 жыл бұрын
@@WilliamCGill it was a passing siding.

Incredibly cool film William and after finally getting to spend time this weekend with you. I will be sure to follow all of your fascinating adventures into the back places of the northeast. Very inspiring and I learned a great deal about a very special branch and the man named William Gill

What a great watch Will! had to have feelings of just absolute solitude in many of these locations - Bacon and more Bacon would be my choice too - LOL - The low camera angle through the yellow and white wildflowers was quite a shot! nicely done! thanks for the effort and the video!

A great story, a bit melancholic but I enjoyed each moment.

This was a hard one and it came through in the recording. Set out to see something and found nothing but a tunnel of trees! But, really glad I did it.
