I don't get it? If he's an experienced Hiker, why did he break all the rules of Hiking? How to you get lost on a 3 hour hike on a clearly marked trail? If there's suddenly a GoFundMe page, we'll know why!!!
@deeanna84484 ай бұрын
Experienced simply means you've hiked a lot. It doesn't mean you have navigation or survival skills. It's very easy to get lost and disoriented. Happens all the time. If he stepped off trial to use the bathroom or check out wildlife or plant life, it's easy to overestimate your ability to find the trail again.

This man or his family are lying, or he is mentally unwell and cannot venture unsupervised. The area he was lost has roads through it within 5-10mi of each other. He left for a “three-hour” hike - why did he bring a flashlight? It would have been impossible for him to trek in any direction without finding a road OR TRAIL in the popular park system within which he was found. 9-10 days just drinking water and eating berries and he’s walking just fine? NOT BELIEVABLE!

Way to lie with your cast away thumbnail. This guy obviously wasn't an avid outdoors men.

Map & compass at the very least my guy. This is not an experienced hiker. This is a lucky guy that made a lot of mistakes.

Make sure to have a portable phone charger or an extra burner phone with you at all times in case yall get lost in a new territory. The GPS or some other map tool will help you rough out where you’re around so you have a better idea of which direction to head downhill in, and the burner phone will help you dial 911 in case of an emergency.

Details don’t add up, he’s a backpacker, lost for days . In an area not so big, you’re going to hit a house or a road out there sooner or later .

You got to be the unluckiest person to make every wrong turn to not find a fire road or better in those mountains.
