Hikers say they encountered a Mountain Lion on Hellman park trail

I run from 7th street trail head to green leaf and back to shabarum park. Once a week. On two separate occasions I have came across a mountain lion. Once under the oak tree where the trail splits and the second time on the side trail leading up to power line tower. The second time I literally ran right in front of it when it hit me seconds after and I turned back. There it was. Didnt hiss didn't act aggressive. It just turned and walked down. So yes there is both mountain lions and Bob cats there.

Why the hell did you call 911 on a mountain Lion? That is the 2nd dumbest thing. I dont really believe it wasnt a bobcat, but I did see mountain lion tracks once up there. It must have been full because of all the little deer they get out there.

I've lived in Whittier all my life and I don't believe these chicks. I've been off trail many times. Coyotes bobcats yes
