I gotta smile a little at this comment under a (beautiful) TMB video. For the TMB is virtually the most overrun multi day hike in Europe (outside a pandemic). When you walk there any other year you have the impression that "most people" not only have the "courage to try". You have the impression that "most" [read: everyone and their uncle] are actually walking it. That doesn't take anything away from this video or the experience of @Maxim . He made a good choice to walk when he did. I spent June of 2020 passing through an incredibly empty Cinque Terre on the Sentiero Verde Azzuro which likewise in any other year would have been completely overrun by thousands of visitors.

Beautiful. And we are so lucky that Europe has such places, and easily reached. (I’ve heard that other continents have amazing mountains too!) ... it’s just that there’s no need to fly to Alaska or New Zealand when there’s incredible variety on our own doorstep (almost).

Beautiful video, bravo.

Absolutely superb. Way back in 1971 I was hitching to Rome and was dropped of miles before Chamonix. I got out of the car looking down concentrating on putting my rucksack on. As I had one strap on and lifted the pack my head came up to see these magnificent mountains. I dropped my pack as my head raised. Never seen anything like it. It was so, so emotional. So I did what you did in reverse ending in Courmayeur, walked down the Aosta valley and hitched to Rome. Marvellous vid, marvellous mountains, marvellous times. You stay safe Sir. Forza Italia. Love the simplicity of this! I too did the Courmayeur to Chamonix leg. Set off 2nd June 2018 and discovered that the bridges weren't in place between Bonnati and Elena, which was problematic! Nor were the refuges open (I was wild camping, too). Also, I was up to my man's parts in snow crossing Grand Col Ferret.......Loved every minute :)
