Great video. Somehow a lot of the trail and the bridge reminds me of the Eaton Canyon trail and bridge. Would be a fun hike one day.

Excellent guide. Wish I would've saw this yesterday. I went with my daughter and it's our first time. We saw 5 hikers in total the whole hike which was eerie. We hiked the left of the river almost the whole time because we didn't know, it was more challenging but I prefer adventure/hiking so this was very fun. We had to climb up the hill to get to the elevated level where the bridge would soon be. The switch back had me losing my mind, this is not the idea route lol. Thankfully on our way back, we met some more experienced hikers and they pointed us to the easier trail and tbh, this was boring but we was tired and over everything (She's 11 and we basically lived in the river on the way up) so it was very pleasing. Took us 2 and a half hours to get to the car. Made it just before 6pm. The route we took which required lots of rock climbing, deep waters and lots of avoiding the spikey plants (which stabbed me a few times which led to a sore hand but I'm fine) was hard. Their is a sign that says you will go to jail if you go past the bridge now. Overall, a very lovely adventure we had. I will go earlier next time so the fear of darkness won't hinder my joy.

right after the FIRST crossing, you lost the trail. It goes straight and the 1-mile marker it just 50' from the river, then it takes you directly to the 2nd crossing. Less effort, lest rock hoping. the 2nd mile marker it buried in a slide, the 3rd is between the big foot crossing, (now gone due to scum in the canyon) and Allison gulch 50' to the south, under the oak on the east side of the trail. At 8:34, it is stupid to even try. I saw a girl fall, and the bone was pushed right through her sin. Air lifted out. You passed 4 waterfall and 6 mines.

Hey there, was ur 2nd crossing still the ruins though? The 3rd & 4th crossing were kinda like 2 separate or one long crossing where you can choose to walk on the river the whole river bend n not touch land. I can imagine the trail leading to the big foot crossing being gone or not as visible cause when I did it it was kinda hidden and not as defined. I think the best way to avoid injury is to just walk on the water and avoid stones, those things can be super slippery with algae and unstable. You said you spotted 4 waterfalls and 6 mines?? Was it Allison, Laurel, and Devils Gulch, what would be the 4th? As far as mines, I only caught one all times I've hiked this, that's some next level exploring u did there. Thanks for your insight 🙌

@@hikeronatrail waterfalls devils gulch, Allison, rattle snake gulch, there are 5 or 6 back there and a mine, one way back on the west side, down below the tail across the river on the west side, thers a canyon that goes back and IF you were to climb it all the way up. your by the 2nd tunnel on shoemaker road high above. The canyon has a falls in it but, there use to be a sketchy guy living back there and IF you see him around, dont go alone, hes a druggie, be careful. there's another right after the bridge, totally hidden. below the 5 m marker, you will pass a spring IF your on the trail, right there, if you cross the river and climb behind the overlapping ridge, it goes up about 40' and bingo, another falls. they are all over. Bichota canyon has a 80' falls way back at the back end of the canyon but is crazy hard to get to. I have all these and more in my videos. Ive been exploring these mountains since 1981

One note of caution that you should add to this video. If hikers are doing this trail when the river is moving fast and over your knees, the crossing can be deadly.

Hey there, just wall to the end of the bridge and you'll see the path going down, happy hiking!

To be a bit more clear. You go on the bridge. On the other side there's a clear path. The path turns smaller and smaller to almost a wall. Meaning you can semi wall run it to be safe. After that just climb down.

When I first saw that I thought it was a cougar or some wild animal I had to do a double take. I use Merrell moab 2 boots, but some peeps had their Nike's and were trekking along
