Hiking the Cades Cove Loop is the best way to really see the cove. The roughly 11 mile loop is full of abundant wildlife. During our hike, we saw 22 deer, and 4 bear. We hiked through a thunderstorm, and under clear skies. We also hit our 100 mile hiking mark in the Smokies on this adventure. So if you are looking for beautiful Mountain Views, tours through homes of early settlers, and abundant wildlife, then this video is for you!
on Wednesday’s during the summer, the National Park Service closes the loop to automobile traffic. Once a week the loop is only open to hikers and bicyclists alike. The slower pace of hiking allows you to see things you would have missed when driving the loop in your car. We highly recommend an early morning hike around Cades Cove.
