Walk With Wallace

Күн бұрын

Kevin and I head off for an impromptu backpacking trip to the stunning Isle of Jura to climb 3 rugged mountains known as the Paps of Jura. The strong winds made for a tougher day, but we find a fairly sheltered spot to pitch up for the night.

Great video as always Robin ( & Kevin). Sorry I'm so late to the party on this one! Here in Ireland, down in Kerry we've got a pair of Paps too. The Paps of Anú, 694m & 690m, like the Jurassic ones, steep climbs!

Hi Robin, thanks for sharing the video form this trip. I have to say you had perfect camping spot - nothing's better than laying down after a walk and just soaking in the beauty of the view. Hey Mari, the wind was only 10-15mph where we were pitched, much stronger on the tops. I'm quite impressed with the Lanshan. If I was Kev though, I'd upgrade the pegs, they looked a bit too small for liking. Otherwise I can't see any flaws. You'd need to seal the seams to make it fully waterproof, but it still handled a rain shower during the night.

Walk With Wallace 👣 Cheers, Robib! I think I’m still traumatized from my most recent experience in the Lake District. The wind was bashing on my tent. Kept me awake all night, I was worried the poles were gonna snap on my face. The wind must have been almost 50mph. You think it will stand that much wind?

@@FunsizedEarthling I wouldn't want to say for sure as I haven't seen enough of the Lanshan, plus you do wonder what testing these go through. There is one guy on KZbin who takes his to the Alps and swears by it.

Hello! A great video that lets me enjoy the great outdoors of Scotland! Is the wind noise noisy in the tent?

Hello 👋 The tent can be a bit noisy in the wind. I've got an additional guyline to try this weekend, that should hopefully help.

Enjoy mate, you'll love it. I don't think either direction will matter. If it's going to be windy maybe the direction with the wind on your back. Thanks for the coffee too mate. 😊 👍🏻
