The La Llanía path, circular and without difficulty in its 3 variants, runs mostly through a heathery fayal forest. We start our route by going to the Mirador de La Llanía to enjoy a panoramic view of El Golfo. Heading east we head towards the Bailadero de las Brujas, to which popular legend attributes magical rites. We ascend towards the Hoya de Fireba, an impressive exploding caldera visible from its viewpoints. We continue in an easterly direction until we cross the HI-1 road to go around the Hoya de la Mareta. We turn west to cross an area affected by the 2006 fire, which devastated a reforested pine forest. On our way we reach the El Lomo Fountain. Its cistern collects the water collected by the surrounding vegetation. It is the horizontal rain that supplied water to the Herreña population in the past. A characteristic feature of this forest is its southern orientation. The sea of clouds overhangs the summit of El Golfo, covering this humid forest, more typical of the northern side of the island. We cross the HI-40 to enter El Brezal, a dense forest populated by large ferns and heathers, although paradoxically the fayas have a greater presence. The atmosphere is humid, with abundant presence of lichens and mosses. Green is the predominant colour in this part of the route.
