I started my 41 km two day journey in Ashurst and I went south through the Little Holmhill, Denny and Stubby Copse inclosures. Before Newlands Copse I turned north, crossed the Beaulieu Road, the Pignalhill and Ramnor inclosures making my way west through Hollands Wood towards the Rhinefield Road where I found two majestic sequoias towering above the canopy. I went all the way to the Queen of the Forest, the 500 years old Knightwood Oak, and then walked the Tall Trees Trail, finishing my journey in Brockenhurst. Deer encounters were very sparse and sudden, but following them has led me to beautiful fields of bluebells and calm murmuring streams.
