Lots of paths to the falls. I think pig hunter trails and also the ridge trail which people will want to avoid. But like you said just stay close to the stream and the pink ribbons, and you can’t go wrong.

Thank you for sharing this! I’m going on a solo trip to Hawaii and this is exactly the kind of hike I’d like to do! Thank you for the tips! I’ll follow the ribbons ☺️✨

Thanks! haha yes, follow the ribbons! The Hawaii trails here aren't as well marked back in the mainland (something I envy) but most important part for this trail is to stay close to the stream and follow the ribbons :D

Thank you! Yes, anything to help people hike Whenever my by bf and I watch movies, we would always figure out the film locations in Hawaii so it was great to piece this one even if it was just a couple of seconds :)

I am grateful for respectful hikers. There are cultural, and familial sites are along the path you showed that deserve respect. Nature in general deserves reverence and respect in addition to areas that are special to cultures, families, and individuals. When we do not desecrater, disrespect, or devalue, nor destroy, but care for treat kindly and keep clean we show aloha and respect. I have a tradition of also packing out liter and opala as I leave an area to make sure its integrity is preserved.

Lulumahu is one of the last great waterfall hikes remaining. Getting super crowded now. I' m fearful that soon it will be closed too.

Great video! Thank you. The first river crossing is the pool deep? if i lose my balance and step into the river at the top of those mini falls I’m wondering if the water is deep enough to go over my boot.
@thehiescapade Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! It's about ankle to knee deep if you fall to the pools above the first falls. I recommend maybe wearing microspikes or tabis if you decide to go through the stream instead of walking across like what we did

Which fall is nicer in Oahu? We're older folks just want to hiking less than 3 miles but mainly want to sight seen . Thanks
@thehiescapade3 жыл бұрын
I want to say Lulumahu falls is more scenic however it is a bit longer to get to then Manoa falls. Lulumahu would be a good option since Lulumahu is fed by a spring. Another good falls to go to that always flow and is much shorter is Likeke falls. I have a video on Likeke falls as well for you to check it out in my channel :)

Do we need a permit to hike anywhere in Oahu?
@thehiescapade3 жыл бұрын
Only certain hikes require a permit. A great site to visit Hawaii trails is Na Ala Hele site - it has lots of info including if you need a permit.

Brah, I dunno what she talking about? Maybe permit for hunting over there? We've done that hike a 100 times. We never get permit.
@jaydeeahr58423 жыл бұрын
does anyone check the permit?
@thehiescapade3 жыл бұрын
Not really. However there may be chances where the Board of Water Supply staff is working and if you come across them, they might ask for it so to be on the safe side, it is better to obtain one to avoid a fine.

Some friends and I have run into DOCARE (DLNR's enforcing group) and they will ask for a permit if they run into you there, but it's pretty rare. We get the permit anyway. It's only $2.50 & it's better than a larger fine.
