Hiking Maryland Heights for the best view of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia!
If you’re new here--hello, hi, hei, moi! We’re Preston and Krista. After moving down to Washington, D.C. from NYC in August 2020, we rented a car and took a day trip to historic Harpers Ferry, West Virginia for some outdoor adventures on Labor Day weekend! This day trip will be covered in several parts. For the first part of this day trip, we embarked on a longer than anticipated hike up to Maryland Heights to witness the beautiful vista of the historic town nestled at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers. After that hike in the steamy September heat we try to find a way to cool off -- stay tuned for Part 02 of our day trip adventure to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia!

So it took you guys a little over 3 hrs. to go from the Visitors Center there and back? I'm going this weekend, just curious. Thanks for the video!

Yeah it was much longer than we planned! We also took breaks when needed and enjoyed our time at the top which I would recommend. Make sure you bring adequate food and water and you'll be fine!
