I love the ledge and the State. Special memories of Virginia. My half Cherokee Grandmother grew up off grid deep, deep in Virginia mountains. She would tell some tales about her younger days, one of houses they had was built over a rattlesnake den (one fell into the cook pot one day), scary legends, her still (yes, Granny made her own hooch), etc. When I was little girl she taught me so much, how to skin game, sharpen hunting knives with a whetstone the way her full blooded father taught her, folk medicine, walks in the woods identifying plants, snakes etc. I always loved visiting there.

Awesome view of those two ridges below your solitary place. I agree, I don't want to hear music in the woods no matter how sacred or serene. Just give me wind through the pines, a babbling brook, and the mating call of anything with wings.

Hi Cliff, what a gorgeous overlook, it really did have a fantastic panoramic view. I do agree with you on the etiquette that was blatantly ignored up there, as you said if you are the only one's there then sit for as long as you want and chill but if other people arrive then just afford them the same courtesy. Thank you for sharing. x

Hello. I live in Va and born in PA. Both states are beautiful. You got closer to the edge at the overlook than I ever could. It was an amazing sight. Thanks for the video. I think the yellow flower is Tickseed. It’s in the coreopsis family.

It was ok with people eating it's just they should have sat in back area; due to people that are sight seeing and their purpose is to get them specific pictures it's common sense. Duh... Oh ya....what's common.?! sense ?!?!😉 You should go to the dollar store and pick up earbuds and if it happens again toss them a pair hahaha Another very good video. My ancestors came from Virginia , beautiful country. Thank you!!!!!

WhAT A BEAUTIFUL SITE IN VIRGINIA. THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH, REALLY NICE TRAILS. what a view. but I would be scared to get to the edge, to much a drop off. Thats a heck of a drop off, those rocks can move you never know. I am afraid of heights. You deserve 1000% for finding such a fantastic place. No I would never want to hear music while hiking I like to listen to the birds around.

Late watching these, always keep afew of yours back, for times I want to relax. That view is totally AWESOME. Not sure I would have went on that little path before I scrambled my sense of balance. Foot wear what ever your use to. I would have politely asked them to move so I could take the shot. Nice snake, neighbor girl bout freaked seeing one in the old trailer. He wasn't bothering her.

My home sweet home. I love the mountains and valleys of Virginia. Born here and haven't lived anywhere else. We have 4 beautiful seasons. Eastern Yellow Star grass and Scarlet Cup fungus or Stinkhorn maybe hard to tell on my phone. Thanks for visiting and y'all come back now ya hear 😂✌️ I hear the Raven in the background. ♥️ And the path less traveled is often the better path. I don't want to hear anything but natural sounds in the wild. People are rude with music and I tell them. They can use earbuds and not violate other people's eardrums. 👿 Oh and we also have the Orange Jewel Weed 😊 and yes the Hummers love it. I plant flowers especially for the Hummers.

Cliff, no need to apologise for rambling as you call it, it proves to all of us that you have opinions too and even though not all may agree, keep sharing them. As for your hike.....WOW, doesn't say enough. We all know of your fear of heights, but you walking along that edge to get to a less populated spot was really awesome. As usual, love your adventures.

We were going to walk out there last March but because of the plannedDemic, the parking lot was closed off. I plan on going back. And yeah people that play music or have loud conversations at such a nice spot are just idiots.

Wow! What a great view! Looks like an awesome trail to walk along. Here in the Sth West of Western Australia we regularly go on a walk in our area and just love the quietness and seeing and hearing the birds and wind blowing thru the trees, its just magic. I totally agree with you there Cliff, I also detest people wanting to play music when the whole reason of hiking in the woods is for the tranquility, peace and quietness of the experience. I take my mobile but its on quiet mode because its there in case of an emergency etc. We have limited coverage in places where we go anyway.
@Mike1969564 жыл бұрын
I really enjoyed you hike at McAfee Knob. I agree with your comments about people playing music in a park like setting. I was just at Wissahichon Park in Philadelphia and there were groups of people playing loud music in a setting where you want to be with nature and away from the noise of the city. I agree with your comments about being rude to other people. If they want to hear music play it in there headphones and not let other people hear it. Well I really enjoy all your videos and keep up the great work.
@lindamccaughey66694 жыл бұрын
Wooow what an awesome view. I would have been annoyed with someone playing music too. Nature has her own music which is beautiful.
