On my Active Skin 8 the loops don't exist on the back to attach the bungie cord. However I find that if you put the poles with the handle side down in the front pockets they sit very well. one bungie at the top to lock them in place like you show but it's the pointy end pointing out (it's not near your face so it's OK). This also stops mud and stuff getting on your clothes. Just thought I'd share. I have the BD poles.

thanks... another extra way to stow the poles that salomon doesn't explain

Thank you for demonstrating different methods! Very helpful. Do you prefer the belt over the custom quiver? Maybe you didn't have it available for the video, but I was wondering how it fares next to these other methods. I just bought the custom quiver, too bad I didn't see this video first.
@runningaround20902 жыл бұрын
sorry for late reply - belt > quiver > vest vest better to stop when stowing to secure properly quiver - easiest to stow/retrieve but hate added bulk and bounce belt - easiest solution. anything with dual elastic bands will suffice. need practice to stow/retrieve on the run. bounce at hip level is not as irritating. depending on how it bounces, you can also tell if they are secured properly without looking. if so, readjust whilst running. easy. im using the salomon pulse belt atm, supplemented by vest for longer races. avoid the salomon sense pro belt as the backpocket is unsuitable for softflask - bounces out whilst running when full. the newer salomon advance belt is a maybe but the front pocket now has the same problem where softflasks bounce out. it has side pockets which i have tested with the flasks and they are better. can even carry 2 500mls. however, they are quite fiddly to reinsert into the side pockets.

Thank you so much for this! How do you find stowing the poles at the front while at the same time using the flasks at the front?
@chinyong81663 жыл бұрын
you won't poke your eye doing it :)
@runningaround20903 жыл бұрын
I normally stow them using a running belt. having tested that setup of stowing them in front, you can still drink from the flasks. i normally use a spare hand to grab the vest/flask side to aid it to mouth. so I guess you can manoeuvre it however you like.

@trailsandbeers2 жыл бұрын
get fixed length poles, take the handle straps off, don't need the velcro strap... apart from that good video. Also it is easier with a quiver.
@vagnsteen51303 жыл бұрын
Oh, what Salomon belt do you use?
@runningaround20903 жыл бұрын
it's the salomon pulse belt. I only got it because it was 50% off from another seller. there are lots of other brands too and I think they'd need to do alot to really screw up such a simple design. just make sure that it has a function to stow poles. and also like I mentioned in the video, you can sew in a velcro strap to the poles so that it's easier to stow using the running belt or else the legs of the poles stick out all over the place. makes the process far smoother for me. zero hiccups since these modifications.
@85rez2 жыл бұрын
you know where you can buy the laces, they weren't present in my salomon sense pro 10
@chinyong81662 жыл бұрын
They should have. Contact your seller. Otherwise contact salomon to see if they can send you some. Lastly, alot of people don't use them and they seem to be the same design amongst salomon vests so you can also ask around other runners if you are in a club or post on fb groups.

hi what size do you wear? im 5'10" and 75kg
@chinyong8166 Жыл бұрын
I think they go by chest size and there's a size guide on their website. Most online stores allow returns anyway and the way they are packaged, you can always try it and put it back without damaging it needing to tear anything
