Hiking Spectacular VÆRØY | Håen, Nordlandshagen | Camp and Hike Norway 2021 Part 5

In the summer of 2021, Vegard and I are searching for beautiful camp sites and hiking areas in Norway. We visited remote Værøy in Lofoten. Værøy means "weather island" in Norwegian, and sure did we get a lot of weather! We hiked Håen and set up our tent at Nordlandshagen.

Wow, just got back from Værøy after this weekend and that trail down to the airport was no joke! Extra tricky with a backpacking backpack.

Værøy is a rare gem that (fortunately) isn't seen by too many people yearly. I have been there too. Most memorable, as are other parts of Northern Norway ❤️

I remeber first time I visited Værøy in summer 1981 to visit my new granny Bergliot, who was my former fostermother Sigfrid her mother together with Kåre, Jan-Erik and Aina Beate who was my new siblings from 1981 to 1989 ☺ I remember we all 4 took the ferry from Bodø to Værøy and the ferry stoped by the Røst Island. I remember the ferry trip from Bodø to Værøy took 4-5 hours 😁

My former fostermother Sigfrid was born in Værøy and lived there until she was 20 years old before she moved to Sunnmøre and Vatne in Haram kommune where her boyfriend Kåre was from. I lived with Sigfrid and Kåre, which was my fosterparents from 1981 to 1989. They had a son and daughter from before, which was theirs.

Kjedelig at dere ikke fikk se utsikten på Håen da, syntes Værøy er den fineste delen av Lofoten. Og ikke minst den fantastiske ferge turen ut der, med hval og verden sterkeste maelstrom "moskestraumen" Og nordlys eller midnatt sol, og vakre solnedganger🙌 Takk for alle dine fine videoer🙏😁

Yes, the view would be stunning! We did experience great views later on on the journey :)
