Almost a year ago on his podcast, I remember when Kraig was talking about going into the 'hiking film genre' on KZbin because it wasn't too popular. Congratulations, Mr. Adams, upon making this epic trip. A job well done! My son, Patrick, completed a similar rim to rim trip several years ago. He made the hike in early May to avoid the summer heat. He is an amateur photographer. He took dried fruit, a water bladder, salted nuts, crackers. We are from San Diego, Ca. He prepared every day for several months by climbing a local mountain/hill here named Cowles Mountain. My wife and I dropped him off at 2 AM at the South Kaibab trailhead. He stayed at Phantom Ranch to rest for a couple of hours. Then he continued on until reaching the North Rim at the North Kaibab trailhead at around 5:30 PM. Although, it was not recommended, he felt he had prepared enough to make the trip in one day. He made it in a little over 15 hours. His mom and I were so proud of him...and still are! I told him then that later in his life he can look back with a smile at what he accomplished

Crossed the Canyon in the mid-70's, in one day, on a bet that I could get across the canyon with four friends faster than the other half of our group could get around the canyon. We won, but were instantly findable next morning: when we stretched, our legs cramped, and we yelled. Glad to see that they have improved the trail.
