Hiking the Hidden Gem of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Hajdučka Vrata

Hiking to Hajdučka Vrata, a natural rock formation in Bosnia and Herzegovina offers scenic views and natural beauty. As we make our way up the mountain, we are rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, including the Neretva River and the mountains in the distance. The area around Hajdučka Vrata is characterized by its rugged beauty and scenic views, with dense forests, alpine meadows, and sparkling streams providing a backdrop to the towering cliffs.
Traveled 80+ kms southwest of Sarajevo to reach the municipality of Jablanica and another 25 km to the jump-off. Thanks to portable solar panels - a hiking gamechanger that sustained my electronics for days powered by the strike of the sunlight. ⚡ Reached the peak after 6 hours or 12 kms, with several stops and 830+ meters in elevation gain.
I came across a blue lake surrounded by tall mountains and lush forests - a perfect campsite with stunning views! Pitched the tent, washed my clothes, and took a river bath. I originally planned the section of this hike through a different trail which could have taken much longer (part of via dinarica trail), but thanks to the incredible hospitality of Ramo, a local from Jablanica for recommending a much better alternative given my limited time, and for showing around Jablanica (and later on in Mostar!). Also got invited to their home for lunch 👌🏻
