Wedgemount Lake Hiking Guide & Maps: riseandalpine....
If you’ve ever been on Instagram you’ve probably seen Wedgemount Lake.
It’s unique slender appearance and glacial blue waters backdropped by the Wedgemount Glacier and towers of Rethel Mountain aren’t a sight you can forget. It’s a sea to sky hiking classic and although it’s quite busy, it’s a trail every local hiking enthusiast needs to check off their bucket list.
The Wedgemount trail is relentlessly steep and almost completely forested until you reach the final 100m climb to the top. This is what I like to call a destination hike! Climbing almost 1300m over 6 kilometers makes for a great cardio workout and the views at the end are nothing short of spectacular.

Glad this brought you back Shawn. It's sad the glacier has receded that much. Super cool you stood at its feet in all it's glory.

Try summiting Wedge Mountain. The views must be so amazing up there on top of the highest mountain in the region.

I'm gonna be making the obligatory comment noting how much the glacier has recedeed since the last time I've been there in 2010. Now there is a whole new lake formed because of it.

Wow.... The lake beneath didn't even exist in 2010??? It's so sad how fast these beautiful glaciers are receding.

@@riseandalpine Yeah, there was no lake back then. I didn't know there is one now until I watched your video, so I was quite surprised to see that. How about little kids? (7 years old) Is this hike too much for them? They have been on many trails before, does it have any dangers or is it just hiking straight up with rocks?
@riseandalpine
@riseandalpine 4 ай бұрын
It would depend on their energy levels, but from a safety perspective, absolutely no dangers or exposure. Only tricky part is the really steep part up to the lake with some slippery dirt and rocks.

Bought a hat (you had me at “worst possible material”) and a sticker. Buttering you up for when I’m in whistler next year and can’t find the freshies. Btw, no kids merch? Dad in his dad hat ain’t getting you any likes, but his 9 year old just might…

Hey Corey, Can't believe the sales pitch worked!!! You will be the second official owner of a rise and alpine cap. Keep that thing in mint condition (might become a collectors item one day LOL) Don't sell yourself short, dad's get deserve likes too!! Kids merch is a great idea :). I really appreciate you watching and supporting the brand!!
