Hello and Happy New Year! 🎉 We hit the trail again, this time to hike somewhere a little bit more precarious. Active as it is, we couldn't hike over to the summit of Mt. Asama, so does this count as ticking off one of the top 100 mountains? 😆

Happy New Year guys, I hope you’re both well? What a great video to start the weekend off with too. Absolutely wonderful scenery and it looked to be a fun hike too. It’s a shame you felt ‘packed in’ at the onsen but I imagine a full visit stay there would give you a much more relaxed experience. Thank you for sharing this brilliant video with everyone. Looking forward to seeing what 2024 will bring for everyone. Best wishes and safe travels to the both of you. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇦🇺🇯🇵😊

Happy New Year! 🎉 We’re well thank you! Feeling refreshed after spending time with family in Australia over the holidays. How was your Christmas and New Years? Yeah I think an overnight stay at the onsen would be the way to go! You could really enjoy the scenery and hot springs then. Thanks so much for your support in 2023!It’s always so lovely to get a comment notification from you, we really appreciate it! 😊

thank you so much for your lovely reply. Great to hear you had nice time back over in Australia seeing family and friends. The festive period was nice and quiet for us, went to visit my parents in between Christmas and New Year’s for a few days, unfortunately both of them and also my missus and I all got stinking colds/flu symptoms for few days too. Fortunately we’re all well again and back out enjoying walking in our locals areas. It’s been a genuine pleasure watching and supporting your brilliant channel throughout last year, particularly seeing the ‘off the beaten track’ places too. Very much looking forward to seeing what 2024 will bring for everyone. Have a great weekend guys

Oh no! We heard of quite a few people getting sick over the holiday season. Must be because everyone’s getting together more than usual over that time. Glad to hear you’re all well again though! It must be nice to get out into the crisp air for some walks 😊 Thanks so much! We plan to visit a lot more “off the beaten track” spots this year and hopefully a move out of Tokyo and into the countryside is on the cards too!

You’re totally right. When you climb, it’s a good idea to pick a song you totally like. Find the rhythm and that’s your hiking beat! Not joking! My longest hikes were 3 to 4 weeks.

You’re honestly on another level! Singing the same song in your head for 3-4 weeks sounds like a recipe for insanity 😉😂

I been to this mountain and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous. You should definitely try again. Btw I saw the website of this onsen and it says daytrip onsen is indoors only.

Wait - you got to go onto the actual volcano? But yeah it's so awesome! We were driving past it the other day on our way to another winter adventure, and now that it's covered in snow it looks so majestic on the horizon! 🤩 Damn, yeah we kinda went there off the cuff and weren't prepared. Pays to do research before hand haha!

@@RoyandAimee I was referring to the Mt.Korofu, but yes also went to Mt.Asama three times. It was before the restriction but only allowed to go to the outer rim of the volcano.

Ooh nice! Yeah we'll have to get back there again, especially if the restriction level is lowered. It also looks like it'd be a beautiful snowshoe hike in winter.
