Hiking the TMB while UTMB is on!

Last September we traveled to France to trek the iconic TMB (Tour du Mont Blanc) route. Well, mostly anyway, We actually did a self-guided shortened version that the tour operator calls 'TMB Highlights' - apparently this means you get to hike all of the best bits, and shorten the trip by taking a couple of busses along the way.

Basically they book everything, arrange for daily luggage transfers and generally make it easy to just turn up and enjoy the trek. In the past I've preferred to do these things on a shoestring but I have to say I didn't hate it!
