We just did this hike two days ago. It was very muddy and slow going. The entire hike from the parking lot and back was 12 miles and took over 6 hours. Don't try this in your Nikes or Vans! Hiking boots or trail shoes are a must! Also, bring plenty of water (we had our Camelbacks). Not recommended if you have ankle/knee/back issues. The view was well worth the effort!

it's a fantastic trail. I really would like to hike it in again during the foliage season here in a few weeks.

Thank you for sharing! Do you know if they allow bikes in the trail? Maybe I can leave the bike at the end of the gravel trail and then hike up.
