I visited Zapata Falls in winter when it was frozen and it was so beautiful. Great to see it flowing!

so incredible the way the greenery ends and it's just dunes! But the hike up the rocky river to the falls looks like the sort of place I would fall over about ten times! But worth the hike!

Zapata Falls look so beautiful, The way you guys make through it is really daring. Hiking is such a wonderful experience but challenging as well. Love to see your adventures

The falls are really cool in the winter too when they freeze! I went in JANUARY.. super cold but also very few people! Unique and definitely picturesque place, i need to explore more of the area and the mountains around there

I am not sure if I would want to do the waterfall hike in the winter if I have to go through water. The water was already really cold. Does the whole river freezes over? It would be really neat to see the waterfall frozen.

I love the tips about the shoes! I invested in water shoes in Thailand I didn’t even consider how they could be used for hiking!

Our favorite national park in Colorado is Rocky Mountain national Park. Zion is Zach‘s favorite national park and mine is Yosemite. (So far)

Quite the desolate area of Colorado. The waterfall is beautiful. Definitely worth the hike and drive. How hot was it really on the sand dunes? I feel like I'd been red by the end of that trek 😂

The sand I am guessing was about 90 degrees. It was not to bad when we went. We really enjoyed the waterfall hike.

Great Sand Dunes is a park we purposely skipped on our 2023 Colorado road trip as I couldn't bear the thought of having sandy feet and sand everywhere! I imagine hiking/walking on the sand is difficult!

It is definitely all sand. We had sand everywhere!
