You don't necessarily need an NVR with IP cameras, you can run the camera stand alone with a micro SD card to store the recordings.

Hey mate, does this camera have a built-in microphone/audio? If it does how do I set it up? My cameras are already connected to the NVR and the footage from there doesn't have any audio and it doesn't look like I can set audio in the NVR. Any tips? Thanks in advance.

@@adsmail Hi Adam, I found out these cameras have no built in audio at all. Very disappointing... currently I'm relying on my Ring video doorbell to capture any nearby audio at the front. Luckily no incidence so far although I have had cops coming to check the footage as someone's house down the street was firebombed last year (they knew each other). Good luck Adam and Happy 2021. :)

Hi, do you know if it will continuously overwrite on the SD card or do you need to format it? I’ve seen one where you have to remove and format the SD card, as it doesn’t overwrite.

Only if you have 'Continuous' recording set up on the microSD card. I think we need to give people the right info rather than half info like 'it should'.... The NVR also needs to be set up on continuous recording for it to overwrite.

Nice review and now about to purchase but have a question. You had the ethernet and power cable plugged in. Is this something you have to do or can it be run just on ethernet POE.?

Thanks for the comment much appreciated. I didn't have a compatible POE NVR I have a cheapo Annke system that doesn't give enough power to cameras like this. If you have a hikvision NVR then your sorted or you could buy a POE switch I've reviewed in my channel. Hope that helps.

Can you use a TV as a monitor instead of a stand alone monitor. Would rather do this if possible and just have the CCTV on its own source on the TV.

You you can do that but you would have to connect the camera to an NVR and then the NVR connects to your TV via an HDMI cable
