If my only wish is to receive calls from my doorbell and answer/decline them, and have a life view of the person in front of the door right away, and i want to see my cctv cameras, can i just buy a cheap android tablet and use the hikvision app? What’s the extra benefit for me if I buy an indoor station instead of a android tablet? Please help because i really don’t understand.

the indoor station is the only item connected to the internet, hence it reports to it and forwards the call to the HIK Account.

How do you set it up so that you can veiw from indoor station but also record the footage on the NVR?

Hi, To record footage to NVR you need to add the IP address on the outdoor station on a Channel on the NVR, Please not they both have to be on same network connection for this to work.

Hi, The cables are all Cat5 Connections back to the same network switch behind the screen. Hope that helps.

We might need to diagnose this further, call your local tech support as technically this should work both ways

Upgrade the software and run thru the Wizard on the screen, it should sort out any issues.
