If you use the Face Rec NVR the database will be maintained on the NVR , if you use just the camera it will be maintained on the camera 😊

Hi , the /8S model is setup for perimeter protection primarily albeit it does have some facial comparison options if using a FR Camera, the /X NVR is able to do either FR or Perimeter protection mode with Video structure also to show colour of tops etc glasses , that kind of Deep learning data, it’s the latest model and has a lot of development planned, I hope this helps

I need to ask where does it creats the facial library for face comparison? On the nvr or any other storage devices.. If library is extracted from a data base, does it enhance the capacity of the library. I mean does no. Of pictures in a library increases from 30000 picture to more?

Hello , the library is created on the NVR in this demo , but we have a facial rec camera that can also support directly a smaller library , latest Face rec NVR is 100,000 and up to 16 library , the camera is much smaller, 3 library and 60,000

Hi and thank you , it can detect partially obscured faces but if it’s covered up completely then the performance will be compromised, it looks for the eyes and set points , we have had good success with different Methods we have tried to trick it with but there is a limit

Sorry you need the Facial Rec NVR specifically , we do a stand-alone Face Rec camera but recommend the NVR solution , the human detection is using a special IDS camera to detect human body and alarm based on that detection

Hi , you can connect up to 32 cameras to this unit , if they all have a fixed IP address then in theory yes , but it would be easier to have each one as its own local device with SD card or small NVR , then use software to bring them together when needed

Yes it can do the email linkage , the database is 60,000 faces, we have a server solution if this isn’t enough faces to save into the database

Hi, the get the optimum performance we recommend either the DS-2CD8426G0/F-I dual lens model ( this can also be used standalone ) or the cheaper internal dome DS-2CD7526G0-IZS 2MP VF dome ( also available in higher Res ) , the DS-2CD7A26G0-IZS 2MP VF bullet externally ( also available in higher Res ) , these will give optimum performance, you can technically use ONVIF or standard HIK camera, we cannot give the performance ability or guarantee when doing this

Hi , the NVR and dual lens Face recognition camera are the same reliability in my opinion , the NVR works much better due to having a user interface, the NVR model number is IDS-9632NXI-I8/8F and can use 8ch face recognition , we can use the 7 line face rec model to save costs and provide a good system as the NVR does the work

Hi I have found your Hikvision Facial Recognition Camera review very interesting. If possible i am hoping you might be able to set me straight on a problem with my Hikvision system. My unit is a HIKVision 8 channel 8POE2HDD 3TB installed, the problem i have is the unit indicates that it has the Facial recognition feature. When we try to set it up it indicates that the cameras will not support facial recognition. The cameras that i have been sold are 8MP 2.8mm Black HIKVisionOutdoor Turret IP67 Would i be right from listening to your review that this unit needs certain cameras to run this feature or are we missing some thing in the set up. Other than this small problem i must say the whole system runs fantastic and was really easy to get up and running, all in all a great product. Anyway thanks for the great reviews on the products, they are very helpful and very informative. Regards Rod Long

What benefit would it be then to use the Hikvision terminals with the Hikvision Time and Attendance as apposed to the Zkteco i use? Is there no added benefit to the camera's facial recognition and the Hik terminal besides consolidating into one solution?

@@travismailsa1 the Terminal is a delibrate action whereas the camera could detect you walking several times and clock you in / out which is why it wouldn’t work , the terminal works with our free 4200 software also for the T&A function, really powerful solution 😊

Hi, 2 line doesn’t send the VCA image to the NVR , latest GUI 4 NVR for I series and latest 2 line IP camera firmware does now save VCA face capture to NVR

on the G1 / G0 platform cameras it doesn’t save the VCA image of the face to the NVR , now we have to use the 4/5 line cameras for Face detection snapshot , if you want Face Recognition then use the correct camera and NVR

I am an Electrician From Brazil and new with Hikvision products, I have just brought Video intercom package NVR and 2 cameras. Setup as follow. Hi and thanks for the contact , with this setup it doesn’t contain the face recognition , we need the standalone face recognition Access control terminal (you have the finger print version) or the NVR and camera combination 😊

Hi Gideon , and thanks for comment , you can use either a dedicated stand-alone face recognition model camera on its own with 3 lists and 60,000 face library , or use a less powerful face capture optimised model which will then work with the IDS-96 NVR and give optimum performance , I prefer the NVR over the camera as the NVR interface makes the system easy to use, send alerts , add data , search and playback and can do multiple points whereas the standalone option is not so easy to use in isolation , you could manage it via HIK-Central or IVMS-4200 of course. The NVR gives more lists and face library options also , does this help?

Hi , this is a special function , you can add the dual lens model to the software direct and use the enabled module , you also should install the recording server on install of the 4200 , it is very hard to support this over a forum , what country do you reside in?

I have 2 front HIK vision cameras and they were installed with front lighting!! They’re disastrous! NOW that I’ve discovered the issue 2 years on theyre quoting double cost (I’m a single pensioner) to “fix” problem by telling me my system is too old! Need new hard drive‼️!!!
