"I think it's wonderful that you take all this time for yourself." Kudos to the scriptwriters for making Marie such an evil witch.

Marie is literally why I never got into this show, can’t stand the woman. Heard the shows good and been trying to see by watching these clips, but even that first comment had me wishing they just found a way to write Marie out of the show by episode 2, such a vicious cruel narcissistic la…well, I’m not gonna call her a lady cause goodness knows she never acted like one :P Deepest respects to the actress tho, irl both she and Frank’s actor were supposedly great people!

frank is how he is for a reason. only a quarter of it was personality. the rest came after his hair fell out, which was around the same time as he got married.....

I enjoy this episode because of how relatable it is. The context of the episode is Marie wants to send out a Christmas letter because her cousin sent one out where she exaggerates about how selfless she is and mentions how the family does nothing but fight (which is 100% true). So Marie and Debra write a new letter together, which only makes everyone realize the truth about themselves. That Ray is self-conscious that he has moved up at work, that Robert devotes his whole life to competing with Ray, and that Frank had a whole list of goals he wanted to do 10 years ago and now he’s nothing but a lazy glutton. In some way, this episode is relatable to us.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? May I ask where you're from that this family is relatable? I ask because I think you and I might be long lost cousins. Even down to the Lysol can with which Marie chases Frank around the house.
@12Blueace9 ай бұрын
@@maxalberts2003 Sorry, I meant in how everybody reacts the the new letter. Whether you feel like your good isn’t good enough, you’re so busy comparing yourself to someone else you forget to be yourself, or you have goals and ambitions you want to accomplish but fall into a lazy pattern they never get done. I wasn’t referring to the family.

Here's a couple zingers I got from my MIL. 1. "Well you know dear, no one ever got fat in a concentration camp." 2. "Guess what? I lost two pounds this week. (Long pause while staring at me) Doesn't that just piss you off?"

It's how it's worded. If she had said she is so grateful that she has her daughter in law across the road and it reminds her of how hard raising children is and that it's her greatest joy to be a small part of it. Then that would be complimentary. Otherwise it's just awful
