For the Justin Bieber collab question ... the context is BTS have been asked this question at every interview since 2017... so BTS are done with this question. And the sass is 1. the interviewer ask "is this your dream to collab with Justin Biber" as if BTS are some peasants who have to dream to collab with Biber... BTS are bigger worldwide than any western artist, still western interviewer ask as if BTS are some new artist who would be blessed if they get to collab with western artist, when it is clearly the opposite. 2. BTS's company BigHit has re branded itself into Hybe which is now own Ethaca Holdings, the company Biber is signed under, so BTS and Biber are technically under same parent company... since BTS own shares in Hybe, BTS have more power than Biber... so BTS are in more advantageous position than Biber... so neither BTS have to dream to get a collab with Biber, nor Biber is any superior than BTS in their company. In one word the sass is coming from western media trying to downplay BTS's status and trying to portray them as new comer who is dying to collab with western artist... when both of this thing is farther from truth.

The interviewer, Zach, understands this. He’s interviewed them since 2017. I recommend you check his interview history with them out 🙂 You’ll be blown away! 😄 He was one of the first interviewers ever to give them such meaningful, considerate questions back in 2017/2018 when they were just breaking in, going as far as to encourage their Korean lyrics in 2017 when all they heard from other interviewers is to do English & he even mentioned UNICEF, or in 2018 and 2019 when he was asking them stuff about their creativity process and fave part about the artistry process, or asking about their hopes and aspirations and dreams. It was wonderful! Not only that, but he was the only US interviewer I saw that looked at each member in the eye when they were speaking Korean, and not just at Namjoon because he speaks English. There were so many moments of respect and consideration between them that BTS have kept him in their minds from day 1 in that very first interview in 2017, and have made sure to show their appreciation back. For example, V wearing the heart shirt in Idol MV that Zach wore in a previous interview when V saw Zach saying how silly and stupid the shirt he was wearing was, or when in an interview around Boy With Luv Era Namjoon outright telling Zach he’s their best interviewer they’ve ever had, and Yoongi agreeing. It’s a beautiful relationship they have fostered together, and I hope one bad question doesn’t mean the be all, end all. The sass isn’t necessarily hostility towards Zach, but rather towards other interviewers who might potentially ask the same question as well as just the sensetive nature of the question itself, not to Zach directly. Namjoon’s level of sass towards Zach is one in which he feels comfortable enough with Zach to let that sassy side of himself out. The same kind of sass that people let out towards friends and family because they feel comfortable and warm enough towards them where you know they wouldn’t take the sass wrongly. It’s the same kind of idea in this situation, you know? 🙂Anyway, I hope you can check out his interviews with them! They’re really good.

Thanks for that! I actually wondered when I was editing if they were coming from the angle of ‘don’t act like we would need to get lucky to collab with JB’ lol 💁♀️

Namjoon being sarcastic, especially in recent interviews is one of my favourite things to watch and I’ve been loving it recently 😂💕

Actually comedian justin bieber IS in the same label as bts. Big hit (now HYBE) bought JB’s record label and all their artist that are under them are now part of hybe.

That Ellen question would be so inappropriate for any artist but it must’ve been especially uncomfortable for them considering they don’t like questions about any relationships never mind with their fans..
@ComedianReacts3 жыл бұрын
Agreed, wildly inappropriate for any artist, but if they knew what ARMY was supposed to be then they would have realised it’s like asking ‘have you hooked up with Hitman Bang’ lol 💀

They're in the US again, so maybe they'll go to some interviews and unless the interviewers come up with better questions we might have new passive-aggressive moments from joon very soon 😂😂

The hook up question was so wrong... ARMY got so pissed off and legitimately so... she didn't do bare minimum research on BTS/ARMY or Asian culture in general... it was so ignorent on so many level. I always thought she was insensitive towards Asian people/culture in general, but this question proved it.

There is a lot of misinformation and misinterpretation of Zach’s interview going on. In all fairness Zach Sang has recognized BTS since their first breakout into the US market in 2017. He did so much research on them, even back then, as evidence by his well thought out interviews since 2017 and on. He was probably one of the only interviewers in 2017 and 2018 to give them meaningful, thoughtful, creative questions about their artistry and humanity and treat them with the respect they deserve as people and as artists. He even gives them his full attention even when they speak in Korean, one of the only English speaking interviewers to ever do so. Even to this day he still does the same and still outshines nearly all the western interviewers. Please, before bashing him or getting onto him over this one collab question, think and watch his history with BTS and compare his interviews all these years previously with interviews from other main media entities, especially when BTS was first breaking into the US in 2017/2018. Zach treats BTS with the utmost respect and care, professionally and personally, and it would be good to not forget their history of friendship in light of one question, as well as not putting Zach in the category of basic US reporter reporting on BTS, because he is far from it. Namjoon’s response to the question was that sassy because he wanted it to serve as a warning for other interviewers who ask the collab question with condescending intent, unlike Zach. However, regarding Zach, Namjoon also answered so sassily simply because he trusts Zach and their relationship so much that he is willing to let out that extra sassy side of himself, you know? Namjoon wasn’t sassy at Zach to shut Zach up, but because he is friendly enough with Zach to be that sassy with him. So please, before anyone starts bashing Zach or misinterpreting Joon’s sass as hostility towards Zach, understand Zach’s and BTS’ history and relationship, because you will see Namjoon’s sassy remark is NOT from malicious intent towards Zach and that Zach is NOT the condescending, rude, ignorant western interviewer he was misinterpreted to be through that one question.

Hey now, food is one of the few things that can directly access my happy centre... oftentimes, I'm eating what I think of as routinely scheduled gruel... going out to a restaurant is a social luxury, gastronomic luxury...I used to hate the way dad needed to take a photo and wasting our time before eating, but as I've grown older I relate. Sometimes scrolling through pics I took of sushi or IHOP is enough to bring back momentary joy, just the memory😅

A lot of 'western interviewers ask them who they want to collab with but this guy asked who they "dreamed" of collabing with , as if It was unattainable, but JB's company was taken over by Hybe so Namjoon was stating facts, whilst respectfully putting the guy in his place.

Us millennials walked so Gen Z could run. 💅 Sorry, I don't make the rules, Gen Z. Lmao! Honestly, I feel like taking pictures of food is something that probably took place before even I was born and I was born 95; Maybe people took pics of food even in the 80's or the 70's, idk. I mean, it makes sense when you think about it and it's not like they didn't have cameras back then, despite the quality being more grainy and less focused. Maybe Gen X are the trendsetters in this instance and we just haven't realised it yet. Also, yes, you said Zed and as a Brit, it felt so right! lol And about being cynical, I feel that. I feel like I must sound so miserable compared to others in my life, because I complain a lot and turn everything into something dark or bleak, even something that is supposed to be light-hearted and uplifting. lol
