Why is the government still distributing rice directly to people, Sir? The government is already spending money to procure rice and provide it at a subsidized cost. Instead, wouldn’t it be more effective to directly transfer the money to beneficiaries? Many farmers are producing this rice and are earning basic income. If govt stops procuring they will be doomed. This PDS rice thing is 2 way beneficial, not just one way. So they will have to think twice before ignoring the producing farmers if they want to do like what you mentioned.

Government can think to supply more Dal instead of Rice which the public are not interested to cook at their house. As a common man we all knows that public are reselling the PDC rice at a little higher cost say at Rs 10/- per kg to the hotels and others.
