Not to mention her playing! She has the best intonation I know and the older she gets, the more i like her playing. In the moment, she is my absolute favourite violinist, which is not caused by her looks. But they are in deed great, too.

sasha42196 Vuillaume was the biggest collector of fine instruments in his time. He liked to make fakes of the violins in his collection. He also did work on the violins of many players of his time. One of his most famous violins is a copy of Paganini’s Guarneri that was said to be so close to the original that Paganini could barely tell the difference. That’s Hillary’s violin.

Doesn't sound right - no pun intended. HH plays two Vuillaume fiddles, an 1864 Del Jesu model and an 1865 Strad model. Since Paganini died in 1840, he couldn't have played it. It is possible that JBV made more than one copy of Del Jesu and Paganini played one of them, but it's not one HH plays.

I love Bach mostly because HH loves him so much. But I think Mozart surpassed Bach in math-musicality and feel Chopin never gave it a damn but surpassed both of them.

If Hahn could only vary the frequency of her unbearably boring hypersweet vibrato! And what Schäfer says about "being allowed to skip notes in singing Bach's music" is just the most embarrassing hokum. If she's unable to sing all the notes, she shouldn't sing Bach!
