Comparing this violin concerto with the concerto she did in France recently, we can think that she has evolved so much as a violinist. I prefer to think that she just changed the way she sees the world as a person, through her life experiences and this is reflected in the way she expresses her art to us. she was born a great artist

I've loved this concerto since I first heard it by Isaac Stern on vinyl in my teens and now in my 80s Ms. Hahn burns a new fond spot in my heart. I'm in tears, as always. I also just before heard the Shostakovitch 1st Violin Concerto by Hahn, which is an amazingly powerful challenge. She "killed"it, and the audience instantly roared at the last note. Her power and agility in the coda is breathtaking. BRAVISSIMA !!!!

You're so right. Hilary Hahn is efficient, economical, and strategic when she plays. She doesn't move when she doesn't have to. Did Heifetz not have any emotions either just because he barely moved? True, artful violin playing comes when the audience senses your musical ideas from what they hear, not what they see.
