I noticed that in Norway they judge differently than in other countries. Hardly any chair turns despite the audience clapping like crazy and a lot of good voices. 🇺🇸

Yes. The Norwegian judges dont turn for what would have been a 4- chair turn in other countries. I think they think themselves above «that level», or something.

Norways level is so high compared to other countries. It's a hard battle to select singers, when basically everyone is good.

What IRKS me beyond measure is when judges expect note for note riffs and runs during these blinds…if you noticed at the beginning they did the typical hand gestures representing the runs. I’m a vocalist, and I do NOT match runs. Runs are user specific, and the song can be sung without that “trick”

A song that relies on its riff and runs to sound the way it sounds, will def lose it's "Oomph" when you ommit or warp them too much. In her case, she skips on her breath control and fizzes out after every run. She struggles with them. There are plenty of songs you can choose to "decorate" differently, when the song itself gives that kind of space to play with. She chose a song where it throws it off balance instead, and chose subpar substitutions. If you're going to attempt a run, while knowing the original is tight, fast, technically smooth, crisp etc, you better match its technical level. Otherwise, yeah, you're going to sound like you fell short.

These judges are usually looking for an X factor, not a simple run by run of the song - the song doesnt showcase her voice. The bar isnt "can sing" they look for people they can make millions off of
