This will be my next longbow. I like the design, the handle and the wood combination.

I love my GP Hill style bow! I wanted an ASL because of history and tradition, but I never tried one that I liked shooting until that one at Great Plains.
@zachsisk1922 жыл бұрын
how does it shoot? I shoot a Hoyt Satori now but really would like to get a GP hill style.
@matthewbranstine24832 жыл бұрын
@@zachsisk192 it shoots really great! It is, of course not as fast as a Satori, but it is nearly as fast as a normal "modern" reflex-deflex longbow.
@VersatileHunter2 жыл бұрын
@@matthewbranstine2483that’s because it is a reflex deflex bow. They basically took a Hill style design and changed everything. It’s now not a Hill style.

I actually like that the longbows/hybrid longbows all come standard with the notched grip as did the Youth I got at 45 pounds in the hickory design Pierre (Pier) South Dakota, not me but others get pissed if it is said wrong same for Ft Pierre (Ft. Pier) only those who are born here really care how they say the name. The notched grip is my favorite grip/handle style as I can still do a full grip on the bow the way a Howard Hill flat grip/handle is supposed to be done knowing where to place the hand on the grip/handle, and it will often fit my small hands better with most adult bows being either too deep but skinny or too wide but the right depth for my hands, not that I really needed it with my Youth Longbow if the grip is proportional to the bow size. I tend to find in looking that the flat grip/handle is either is the more triangle/trapezoid wedge shape or actual flat with minimal rounding so the corners are still nearly a 90% angle with just sharpness missing. What I like if going straight handle is a more rounded back part of the grip/handle is what I like in the longbow style grip/handle but still relatively flat sides to the grip so as to not have a rounded style of grip/handle like some English style longbows.

Hill (and me) always used the Mediterranean draw. Are your bows tillered for 3 under draw?
@greatplainsbow5 ай бұрын
@@loganpollock1689 they are tillered at an 1/8" which works equally as good for 3 under or split

I always use heavy arrows on a Hill style bow. The hand shock disappears

Yep it definitely helps a lot
@jme1042 жыл бұрын
I thought that with two time thicker limbs you get eight times stronger limbs so for the same draw weigth a sticker limb should have less wood than thinner and wider limbs and be lighter . Am I right ?
