AWD and being heavy might have helped in the wet conditions (downforce bleeds off at high altitudes, but mass is a constant, so he always had a certain level of traction), but it still took a seriously committed driver.

The conditions got even worse in the later runs particularly when Robin Shute ran in the Wolf/Honda.

the gearbox is pretty much as good as it gets, so turbo lag is non existant, plus awd and a car that is save to push and won't snap on you + these 992 turbo S always seem to have insane drivers behind the wheel. I guess the other cars have anti lag of some sort, so that can't be it.

It is adjusted significantly more to the clockwise direction later in the run when it gets wet...) Also standouts: -- The stock 992 Turbo S gave me chills...serious skills there. Hard to believe a stock model (minus exhaust?) beat a GT3R with 1000hp *and* a GT2 RS Clubsport! -- Equally, if not more impressive...Dai Yoshihara was on the *limit* in that Model 3 -- The sound of Ford V8 is always a nice addition to the mix!

I completely get the paving of the road. That gravel was an environmental nightmare. But the elimination of the motorcycle divisions, the severe limiting of fans that can actually get a ticket to the event…and also limiting the viewing locations ( go check out Sebastian Loeb’s run of 2013 to see what I mean), and the ridiculous single person ticket price. It all truly breaks my heart.
