I would go with a red or white. It does matter what zone you live in. Fedco Seeds has very good descriptions of their varieties 😀 Eric.

It's weird, but it's okay. My potatoes are dead already. Maybe I planted them too early? I'm going to dig them up and see what happened.

Depends on where you live. Down here in Atlanta I put my potatoes in the ground in February/March, and harvested when the plants died with the heat in June/July.
