It's not just the fact that you're a great and learned banjo player, it's that you're helping others keep on with these diddys and tunes. Keep on keeping on brotha

Wow just finished a 12 hour night shift and this song has been in my head all night I get home and here is a lesson on it. I reckon I'll spend the next few days learning this. Thanks for what you do Clif. Your videos have brought me on a long way. Cheers.

Been busy as shit for the last couple of months and not tried anything new but came back to this one last night and figured it out. I had to change it a little to suit my voice but that's what I love about your videos Clifton, you give us the skeleton of the song and a few different ways to try it so we can work it to suit ourselves. You're a great teacher man. Take care Dave.

I no longer use neck angle on _any_ of the banjos that I build. Before the 1920s, there were almost no 5-string banjos with pitched necks--they all left the factory with necks mounted 90-degrees to the rim.

Figured out the chords hes playing are f and a#. You can throw a c in there to complete the f major scale triad.

I didn't really how long and complex it is until I tabbed it out for the Patreon group a while back. Probably the longest it's ever taken me to transcribe a tune.

@@CliftonHicksbanjo I think I got the tab version down pretty alright now, just trying to figure out how and where you add your embellishment and flair to make it sound so good!

Did you know Democratic Yankee Socialism advertisements were coming up on your channel?
@CliftonHicksbanjo3 жыл бұрын
Yeah... sorry about that. I have the option to disable political ads; however, when I've done this in the past, KZbin drastically reduces what little income I receive from these videos.
