Are you sure about the ' top affordable city '? ' lowest poverty rate'? Orenco 2 bedroom apartments go $1850. There is a poor side; we used to call it Hillsburrito. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Hillsboro. I used to live and work there and I'll probably return there in the next few years. But I think there are cheaper housing options in areas like Gresham.

Aaron Freund you are 100% right there’s more affordable living for sure but the cost of home prices compared with the average household income is what makes it the most affordable. Hillsboro was ranked as the highest paying city in Oregon

Giving my wife and future kids a health and constructive living environment is extremely important to me! Living in a bad side of town or tough neighborhood with thugs your putting your family at risk not to mention what. You can't see going on when your boot home or just alot of shady people wandering around? Hearing guns shooting at night, no one wants that. But it's a very real reality if you dont tens too your finances and work.

current home prices on Zillow is 480.000 Just info- look for other cheap median home prices for Oregon on KZbin you can get median home values of around 170k but I do understand that you are adjusting for high wages.

South hillsboro. Lord its insane..198th is crazy right now and wont get any better. Best mexican spot..go to ochoas off 10th kokiyos for teriyaki is off 25th. Orenco is the high end part of hillsboro. Harvey the bunny is off tv hwy always fun during holiday seasons..my stomping grounds lol 😂

I'm from south Texas, yall want Mexican food lemme bring some tamales over there and shoe yall whats really up, when i went threw Portland, no disrespect but yalls popeyes tasted like omg it was disgusting, it was like comparing a cheap bag of unsalted stall chips to a fully seasoned steak, and that was just the fast food! When i went to a Mexican restaurant, it kinda of like "ok not sugar coating this one, if that piece tried to pull that food off as a mex restaurant here, they'd be shut down and out of business in less then a week" sorry, But i promise yall, your being shimmyshanked. MEXX places should make all their own ingredient, the cooking time is also usually a veey long process and also the entire family is usually involved, the end results ALOT of very tasteful, we love spices here, food, its the family togetherness that makes it special! 😉

Haha WTF I live in Hillsboro and not sure how Hillsboro made the most affordable city to live in Oregon list. There are high paying tech jobs but real estate has skyrocketed in recent years. Salem is kind of a Democrat run shithole (like Portland and the rest of the metro area) but way, way, way more affordable and not a bad commute to the high paying jobs...if you don't need a high paying job and are self employed, work from home, or retired you should look for more affordable housing near the coast, central, eastern, or southern Oregon. There's lots of beautiful Country in Oregon and personally with the high cost of living, ANTIFA/BLM/Democrat protests, the homeless problem even in Hillsboro and other communities along the MAX line I just don't think it's as nice of a place to live anymore. Schools here are whack too, teaching 5,6,7,8 year olds about sex, experimentation, molestation, genders, etc, etc.....when I was a kid they would teach us we could be anything we wanted to be, a firefighter, President, astronaut....now they're teaching kids they can be non binary, bisexual, gay, get gender reassignment etc etc... that's shit that shouldn't be talked about in school but rather in the home, doctors, church, etc....
