The rider is Aussie Flatland BMX rider Simon O'Brien. In 2003 when this song was released he won the X-Games Flatland BMX and is somewhat of a legend in that sport. Not the best now but definitely inspired heaps of riders to try new tricks back in the day.

I'm not a rap fan, but I love Australian Rap/Hip-Hop that genuinely expresses Australian Culture. Like these blokes aren't "Shooting cops" they just going to the beach/festivals/clubs/bars.. And having a good time with their mates.. It's refreshing.

@@Footrotflats251 Aussie Hip Hop heads from the 90s def heard of them in the 90s. Even myself living in Alice Springs, having literally no live performances and extremely little to no exposure to local Hip Hop I STILL knew who the Hoods were in the mid-late 90s along with a hand full of other acts back then like Culture Connect who were local to the NT. And I had heard Left Foot Right Foot around 2001 when it dropped. most people who didn't know shit all about Hip Hop didn't know who they were until Nosebleed section dropped and even then it was a year or 2 after that before they really popped in the mainstream.

Hilltop hoods hardest working group, they played lots of gigs and demo's for about 10 years in Adelaide SA in Australia before they hit the big time. They didn't give up, and very talented. Congrats to their success they deserve it . Plus great they still rapped with their Aussie accents and not put on American accents like some rappers who aren't American.

I was at a party on South Terrace in 1998. One of my mates asked if I'd listen to some music from a couple of guys who my mate did some mixing for. So we sat on some bean bags under the stairs and I was not very impressed with a bunch of music that was very colloquial. Then I heard Nosebleed Section and I told Darren 'Dude, this one's commercial. They would play this on the radio.' A few weeks later they sent me a CD that had 1979 on it plus about 30 other tracks. I always wondered why it took them so long to get this song to mainstream.

The dude on the bike won a faux talent contest segment called “Red Faces” (basically a no talent show) on “Hey Hey It’s Saturday”. He was known as “The Bike Guy”.Dude went around the world starting in Japan doing what you you saw on the vid. Red Symons (= Red Faces lead judge with 2 guest judges”) was the Simon Cowell of the day. He was in one of Australia’s most influential and prominent bands called SKYHOOKS.A great catalogue of songs. Definitely the best song is Women In Uniform, but the mainstream radio today tend to play it safe with “Egos (Not A Dirty Word)” or “Balwyn Calling.” Live favourites are “Why Don’t You All Get F***ked”and “You Just Like Me ‘Cause I’m Good In Bed”. Nice singalongs.
