The only thing that makes these cartoons so great is their greatest downfall, they're already great self-contained stories with no clear form of continuity outside of a few outliers. Also, is it me or is the moment where the health inspector announces his arrival and the chef/maitre'd's reaction so much smoother than the rest of the cartoon? Noticing the phenomenon of "high quality animation moments" in modern cartoons got me doing a double take here.

Well, most of the people who made these cartoons were not hoping on making a series, with the ones hoping for ( even if it’s well thought out and has a sense of continuity ) has a 50/50 shot of actually getting green lit based on the timing and budgets of Cartoon Network Studios.

what always got me when I watched this as a teenager was the blow-up doll. They couldn't even show something like that on Ren and Stimpy, no matter what context. and that the truck driver marries it. I actually thought that was the funniest part.
