The Hilton Tulum is a relative new hotel opened just under a year ago and being the loyal customer to the @hilton brands that I am, I had to try the all inclusive concept. After spending 5 days at the hotel over the holidays, here is my second video review to show you everything you need to know about the food. Please join me in this culinary journey. Hi, I'm a Muslim too..I see you eating the steak and chicken...was it halal?? Or did you request a halal food??

Asalamu Alaikum! It is halal but not zabiha halal. Although, I have found zabiha halal too at the resorts (watch my Waldorf Cancun video), specifically Australian Wagyu. You need to check with your Sheik or school of thought about this. Here is what I follow after consulting with my eman: Mexico is a practicing Christian country (mostly Roman Catholic) therefore they are people from the book. For the meat to have the government certification (TIF) the animals have to be slaughtered in a certain way which is the same as Muslims do. Here is the website of the Mexican Government rules and regulations about slaughtering animals, you can use google translate: “Degollado y desangrado, remoción y desollado de cabeza, desprendimiento de esófago, desollado de canal, corte de pecho, eviscerado.” www.gob.mx/firco/articulos/conoces-el-proceso-del-ganado-dentro-de-un-rastro-tif?idiom=es Allah knows best! But know there are so many seafood, vegetarian and even vegan choices if you decide not to eat meat. Also, you can find a vast variety of kosher products as Mexican Jews are the biggest majority in the country. And some resorts have kosher certified meals.
