Just found this album at my parents house a couple months ago.. It hasn't left the disc tray in my car since! From track 1 to track 13, just an absolutely amazing record. This band was a huge factor in my brother and mine's relationship, and listening to it brings back so many childhood memories. Love to HIM, and love to all of you here in the comment section

I'm a big fan of H.I.M. Since i'm 10 years old now i'm 22 and let me tell you that this gentlemans never stops to amaze me. This particular album has one of the best lyrical contents in the discography of H.I.M. My favourite song of this album is "In the arms of rain"

Old Ville? Oldd HIM? Yes, I agree that the sound has changed from what we originally fell in love with. BUT. Times change, so do we, so do our artists (not going to even bring in the whole marketing point here - as time goes by, one genre and style sells more than the other etc). Am I disappointed by this piece? No, not at all. I applaud even to one of my favorite bands keeping it up and being on the surface, as opposed to so many that have disappeared. I'd rather see them changing the style and fitting themselves to more selling style, than vanishing like so many others have. Is it cheesy? Too soft? Not quite what we originally loved in HIM? Yes. Of course it is... But we still love them, don't we? Admit it...you clicked "replay", convincing yourself it is just for "study purposes".... :P

Actually the point is that not only times change but people. They change. So they've something different in their hearts and souls. It comes with life experience. A few years ago I couldn't stand this song because I loved that much old style of HIM. Now I love it. That's the essence of changing :)

Not at all, I think it's one of their finer albums as well. It's always great to see a band you love as a whole (and not just for Ville, as lovely as he may be, there are the other four as well :P) evolve over time and experiment with different styles. This album was probably a lot more Poppy than the rest but it's wonderfully dark and melodic at the same time. And the photography in this video is beautiful as well :)
