He sings '...and I wanna fall in love' because he wants to love someone but can't. he doesn't feel emotions. he knows that the person he's in some kind of relationship with is perfect, even perfect for him, but he still can't feel anything. he wants to force himself to open up, but yet the rock inside him is stronger. kinda relate to that.
