It seams like he would rather have fun than just play the song 100%. That's a great thing but maybe best to be done in a jam session with band only. Always best to try changes off screen and then once nailed down try them on screen. I cant blame them though most likely played all the songs hundreds of thousands of times already.

I love seeing those live on the spot jam sessions , it’s like something organic get juiced out of the vibe of the song , and you get to see how they all express themselves and just get carried away . Love seeing their soul like that . Once it happens it’s gone , probably won’t ever see it that way again lol pretty cool though !
