Sir, being a Himachali we gave up our land to built catchment area and reservoir for Bhakra Nangal dam and India's largest man made lake came into existence. And most of the water and most of the electricity generation is taken by Punjab. Still people are waiting for their land reorganization. More than a dozen temples which are thousands year old got submerged in the water of Govind Sagar Lake. Please make a dedicated video on that also 🙏

For Bhakra Nangal Dams, so much agricultural and domestic land of people of Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh sinked in water. Very large area evacuated for dams and Himachal Pradesh gets nothing for its people, who suffered a lot. The Rights on water, energy and resources of these dams should redistributed and given adequate rights to Himachal Pradesh. And Chandigarh claim is not such appropriate, I think.

Before construction of bhakhra dam, that land was used to be part of Punjab & on the other hand as per states reorganization of act that divides states on linguistic basis, land of Chandigarh belongs to punjabis speaking area as per 1961 census, so Haryana & Himachal can’t claim over Chandigarh but political parties of Haryana & Himachal use this matter for political mileage.

This is the poor vision of our political parties especially central government as they don’t want to resolve matters among states & even use those prevailing issues for political benefits, this scenario is not good for our country as we are looking forward to become a developed nation in 1-2 decades, but also at the same time centre keeps states busy in mutual conflicts just for political vested interests. it’s not matter of Punjab, Haryana or Himachal, even south states Tamilnadu, karnataka & kerala like states & many others states keep on fighting for their rights & even central government don’t want to resolve those matter for political interests. as we are going to become a developed nation in few decades but this kind of mutual conflicts are likely to delay the developed nation status, on the other hand USA is purely federal nation, every province has its own constitution & union government in USA does not interfere with states for political gains, that’s why USA is super power.

States were created based on languages. Punjab wasn't the only state that was created based on language. Search on goo*gle how many states were created. It was 15 states created based on language. There were only 15 state pre 1947. The motive of creation of states based on nationalities was to retain and survive their nationality in order to avoid the imposition of Hindi nationality like they imposed on BIMARU belt. BIMARU belt didn't and doesn't speak Hindi. They speak their own national languages. But Hindi had been imposed upon them and they lost their nationalities and now educated young population speak Hindi or use Hindi as their first language foe official purposes. Same was the case if punjab whereby Punjabi Hindus declared Hindi as their mother tongue and supported Punjab to be a Hindi state. So Punjabi Sikhs fought and sacrificed for Punjabi majority state like other 15 linguistic states in order to survive our national identity.
