Hi Russ, nice ride. I hope to get out after lunch. It is pleasant here in PA. I raised my handlebars a couple inches too. My hands were getting numb and I figured I was leaning on them too much.

I haven't be out on my e-bike very much this year. I am in the process of totally rebuilding my RAD Rover 6 Plus with all new Magura MT7 E duel piston brakes with Jagwire Pro hydraulic hose in a Lime Green. Upgraded both disk rotors to 203mm. Changing out the drivetrain to a SRAM X9 10 speed system, yes I have 10 speed Freewheel and not a cassette for the bike. And many other little things still need to be installed. In the meanwhile I wanted an e-bike to ride here locally and have been looking at a second e-bike that is in the $2,000 range. With the chance of price increase because of the 25% increase tax tariff coming at the end of June I decided to go ahead and purchase a new e-bike. I did look real hard at the Hemiway D7 and like the design and the fake carbon look on the black model looks nice. In the end I ended up going with a very lesser known ebike manufacturer called Kinda America. a sub sidiary of Kandi Technologies Group, Inc. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, they are revolutionizing the market with diverse range of electric off-road recreational vehicles, including the Kandi Golf Cart, Kandi UTV, and Kandi e-Bikes. One of the nice things about Kandi is, Lowe's and Farm & Fleet are authorized dealers. The model I went with is a Trail King M750 in an Apple Green. Some of the specifications of the bike are, 750 watt brushless motor, 52v 20a lithium battery made with LG 21700 cells (3 year warranty). 8 speed Shimano shifter, dubble-crown hydrologic suspension fork with a rear air suspension and hydrologic disk brakes. Some of the other specifications weren't list, so I will have to wait and see. I placed the order for the bike with my local Lowe's store and it's currently "in transit" with a pickup date of June 19, 2024 I have done some KZbin searches for this model of bike and have not seen very much reviews of it. Kandi America does have a video on how to put the bike together and there's a few other videos but not much on a review or a closer look at how the bike is built. But looking at the Kandi website they build quality off-road vehicles and and look to be making some quality products. I will post some pictures and eventually do a unboxing and first review early next week after I receive the e-bike on my KZbin channel if anybody wants to know more about this new company.

I too think a lot of the color screen stuff is a gimmick. You’re not watching a movie on it, so all that really matters is you can read it. Plus, the color screens probably use slightly more battery. I’ve gotten used to mostly riding my EUCs, one of which does not have a screen with a speedometer, though it can only go 22 mph, and on the faster one the screen is hard to read and you have to look straight down so it’s not very usable anyway. I have the whole area covered by a protective bumper at this point so I can no longer see the screen. I just go by feel, or could use my phone on a wrist strap if I wanted. You’re not going to be inadvertently going 40 mph on a PEV, you definitely know when you are going fast. It may be better giving people the option to turn them off and they aren’t tempted to watch the screen rather than watching the road.

Personally I'd go for the Himiway A7 Pro it's more of a commuter style and it has fenders. That's really bizarre that the D7 doesn't offer fenders. Essentially it's very similar to a Mokwheel Obsidian which does have fenders, a full suspension and a 1000W hub motor.

Russ I enjoy your videos and appreciate you sharing with us real time reviews of electric bikes. I’m ready to buy a bike but I’m torn between which bike is right for me. I like the Himiway D7 but was wondering if you have ever ridden or anticipate a review of the Ride1Up Prodigy. I’m glad to hear that Himiway is coming out with 2 new models, the A3 and a folding bike B3. I’m glad to hear that Himiway has decided to offer you the new A3 model for review… …although I’ll admit with summer here I’m getting a bit antsy to get out there and ride… …however I’m patient I’ll just wait for your review of the new A3. Thanks for reading my comments. Happy trails 🚴

Hey Russ, it’s just me again. I forgot to ask you a couple other questions earlier. Question: Have you reviewed or ridden the Himiway Cobra Pro D7… …I only ask because I recently discovered that Himiway has a 1000 watt Bafang mid drive motor vs the standard 500 watt motor. I understand it’s going to cost more money for the upgraded version D7 Cobra Pro. I mention this only because I think it may be a better fit for taller and heavier people. If I recall correctly the Himiway D7 has a weight capacity of 400lbs… …which is good to know b/c my height is (6’2”) and weight (375 lbs). I look forward to your review of the new Himiway model A3. Last question: Have you considered reviewing an electric trike (tricycle)? Keep on riding… 🚴

I have not ridden the Ride1Up ebikes and have not been given one for review. As for the Mid-Drive D7, I specifically asked for the rear-hub motor version because I like them better than mid-drive bikes. Have you ever ridden a mid-drive bike before? You better like constantly using your gear shifter because that's what you would need to do if you get one. A mid-drive motor requires a different kind of riding style than a rear hub motor ebike. Look at it like driving a manual stick-shift car. You would need to constantly shift if you plan to use your gears when pedaling. Shift up as you gain speed, shift down as you decelerate. If you do it wrong, you could strip out the chain and rear cassette. It's not as easy as you might think. I had the Himiway Rambler and ordered it in a mid-drive. After my viewers found out how it had to be ridden, most have said they will stick with a rear-drive motor instead. Go to my review of it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pITYgaB8hqp4icU As for an e-trike, I have no interest in reviewing them or riding them. Since I can ride a two wheel bike, I know that if I got one in for a review, I'd only do the review and never use the trike again. Plus it takes up a lot of space in the house, and I don't have much due to all the other bikes here. And, you can't easily transport it from place to place since it is so big. You don't have a car rack for it and it's too big to easily fit in an SUV... so you are really just stuck riding around your own neighborhood. Look at the Himiway Zebra as one to consider as well. They have a step thru and step over version. It handles a lot of weight too. My initial review of it is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYSVnHdsfbd8nqM Use my affiliate link in the video descriptions if you decide to order a Himiway bike. Thanks!

Nice video Russ, I've got a Zebra & want one for my wife. For some reason using today's exchange rate in the UK where I am Himiway charge $380 more for the same bike. That's a hefty difference. I do need a stem riser I think to reduce pressure on my hands a little. What do you prefer yourself the cadence or torque sensor ? Cheers

For me, due to my knee problems, the cadence sensor works best. But of if I want a workout, I switch to torque.
